As a PhD student in cinema and media studies at the University of Chicago, I am interested in realisms, semiotics, and notions of evidence. Currently, my primary research interest is video evidence in US law courts, and how our understanding of what motion picture evidence can show has changed since the early 20th century.

I work as a freelance writer, videographer, and archival media researcher.

Prior to starting graduate school, I was a production assistant at WBEZ Chicago.

I am Cuban American, and was a 2016 Tu Cuba fellow with the CubaOne Foundation.
